IMPORTANT ROAD CLOSURES Friendly reminder to everyone, major repair work involving sewer and water main replacements, repaving, and sidewalk reconstruction, has commenced on Green Street and will continue until the end of summer. The street will be closed between Mercille and Oak Avenues, and on-street parking will be unavailable in this section. In addition, the parking spaces reserved for the library on Mercille Avenue will be partly occupied by the construction trailer. For those of you needing to drop someone off at the door, Birch will be a two-way street between Green and Desaulniers, accessible by Desaulniers. Parking space on Birch is limited, we suggest driving on Boulevard Desaulniers and parking on Pine Avenue, then walking over to the church. OUR GOSPEL READING is John 15: 1-8, “I Am the True Vine”. In this passage Jesus compares himself to a vine and his followers to branches, emphasizing that staying connected to him is vital for bearing spiritual fruit and life. Without this connection, believers cannot thrive. But by remaining in him, they can produce abundant fruit, illustrating their close relationship with Jesus. In the Old Testament, Israel was often referred to as God’s “vine” or “vineyard,” but faced judgment for failing to bear fruit. Jesus, however, is portrayed as the ultimate and genuine “vine”, fulfilling the role that Israel could not.
