May 29th, 2022 – “Power and Freedom”

2022-05-29 Ascension Sunday 11:00 AM - "Power and Freedom”

Dear all,

Last week,  Paul and Silas met up with Lydia,  and the first Christian congregation in Europe is founded.  Tomorrow, they venture forth to explore the Roman colony of Philippi.  As “slaves of the most High God”, they encounter both spiritual  and political powers.  It is an interesting story for Ascension Sunday, which is not so much about  geography (Jesus disappearing on a cloud to heaven) as about power. Who rules?
