Dear friends,
THIS SUNDAY Romulus Rhoad will be leading us in worship.
WE WILL CELEBRATE THE COMING OF JESUS CHRIST INTO THE CITY OF JERUSALEM, a prophesied event that was foretold in Zechariah 9. “Your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey” Zechariah 9:9. So join us this Sunday as we celebrate the King of kings’ entry into the royal city of David, the one who came not to be served, but to serve.
THERE WILL BE PALM BRANCHES available to everyone upon entering the sanctuary. Please be sure to receive yours from one of the ushers. Everyone is invited to process around the sanctuary, waving their palms, at the time of The Procession, right after the first reading from Matthew’s gospel.
ON GOOD FRIDAY, at 11 am, we will be holding a solemn service of readings, prayer and song in the sanctuary, to which all are invited. Please join us for this special service.
EASTER FLOWERS: Anyone wishing to contribute to the purchase of Easter flowers for our sanctuary may place their name and donation on the offering plate – or send an e-transfer. Should you wish these to be memorial flowers, please include the name(s) of the person(s) you would like to remember. The last day for contributing is Wednesday April 1.
SPECIAL EASTER OFFERING: Our Special Easter Offering, the envelope with the yellow band across the top, dated April 5, in your boxed set of envelopes has been designated for the work of camp d’action biblique (CAB), our Presbyterian summer camp in Richmond, QC – a roughly 90-minute drive from the South Shore. It is a camp where children and youth can spend a week in the summer and live in Christian community while having a great time. A list of dates for this summer’s camps can be found on the bulletin board at the rear of the sanctuary. For more information, visit: www.cabqc.ca
EVERYONE IS INVITED to join us downstairs after the service this Sunday to enjoy coffee, cookies and conversation.
