June 29th 2025 -“Claiming our Spiritual inheritance”

Dear friends,

THIS SUNDAY the Rev. Linda Faith Chalk will be leading us in worship.

OUR SERMON TITLE FOR SUNDAY is “Claiming your Spiritual Inheritance”.  By persistence this is what Elisha was aiming for.  He had heard that God was calling Elijah home and he wanted to know with certainty that he was to inherit the prophetic mantle.  What are our spiritual desires?  Are we attuned to them?  Or do we hope that it will all work out?  After all God is in control.  As we turn to the gospel, it doesn’t work out, Jesus is turned away because he is facing the wrong direction according to those who reject him.  He knew that his spiritual inheritance was the cross and that was the direction in which he was facing.  We do not always understand how God is working in our lives but scripture tells us that he is at work and that we are his workmanship.
