Dear friends,
This Sunday, the Rev. Linda Faith Chalk will be leading us again in worship.
We continue through chapter 18 of the gospel according to Luke.
Last week’s sermon was based on the parable of the persistent widow (Luke 18:1-8). The Lord is our Rock and our Refuge, and we are reminded to persevere always and pray with confidence, knowing that our prayers will certainly be heard by God. “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16.
This week’s gospel lesson will be taken from Luke 18:9-14, the parable of the pharisee and tax collector.
