June 11th 2023 – “Faith at Work”

2023-06-11 "Faith at work" 11 AM

Dear friends,

This Sunday the Rev. Linda Faith Chalk will be leading us in worship.

This week’s sermon title is “Faith at Work”.  One of our readings is taken from the book of Genesis 12: 1-19, the call of Abram.  Throughout the Bible we see God calling people to Himself, but does everybody answer this call?  “The life of the believer is as Abram’s was, a separated life, a life regulated by other affections than those that arise from the relationships of flesh and blood.  It is a life of walking in the unseen, in which God’s command, presence, and approval are paramount considerations.  It is a life in which faith guides the soul, sitting like a pilot at the helm of the vessel… The calling of Abram is a representation of our calling.” writes C.H. Spurgeon.
